What to Expect When Your Puppy Comes Home
Bringing your puppy home after training is an exciting milestone! During their time with us, your puppy will have been introduced to important routines, commands, manners, and everyday experiences. We also have kids from ages 13-1 they will be around and very well socialized. Our goal is to make the transition into your home as smooth as possible while giving you the tools to continue building on everything your puppy has learned.
🐾 Your Puppy Will Come Home With a Foundation
Depending on the training program you choose, your puppy will have experience with:
Potty training and a consistent bathroom routine
Crate training and comfortable crate time
Leash walking and basic leash manners
Basic obedience commands
Place and settle training
Recall and coming when called
Impulse control and patience
Appropriate handling and everyday manners
Socialization and exposure to new environments
Working around normal household distractions
Following a daily routine and structure
Your puppy will not be expected to know everything perfectly. Puppies are still learning, and continued practice at home is an important part of their development.

The work doesn't stop when your puppy comes home. In fact, this is where their training really becomes part of everyday life!
We will provide you with guidance on how to continue the routines and commands your puppy ha-s learned. Consistency from everyone in the household will help your puppy understand what is expected of them and allow their training to continue progressing.

Maintaining a consistent schedule will help reinforce the habits your puppy has already developed..
🐾A few things to keep in mind. Always take your puppy out to go potty in the morning and after every nap.
🐾 Positive Reinforcement
Rewarding good choices helps your puppy understand what behaviors you want them to repeat.
🐾 Puggles are typically very food-motivated. I start by hand-feeding their meals and incorporate training into that routine. Hand-feeding builds a strong bond, teaches focus, and turns mealtime into a predictable training opportunity. I use small portions at a time, ask for basic cues (sit, wait, eye contact) before offering each handful, and gradually increase criteria as the puppy masters commands. This method reinforces good manners around food, reduces resource guarding, and makes commands more rewarding. Always keep sessions short, consistent, and calm, and adjust food portions so training rewards don’t exceed daily calories.

Continue introducing your puppy to new people, places, sounds, surfaces, and experiences in a safe and positive way. We take the puppy with us if at all possible.
